WhatsApp group members who are not admins will still be able to read messages shared on the group and can respond privately to the admin of the group.
WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that will give more power to group admins.
The Facebook owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp has added a feature extending the rights of group admins and adding an advantage over non admin group members when it comes to participation in the message conversation.
The new WhatsApp feature now grants the admins right to decide which non admin or group member can send messages in the group. This applies to all forms of messages including photo, video, text, GIF & audio.
This new WhatsApp feature, however only restricts non admin group members from sending the messages. Still they will be able to read the messages shared in group and can respond privately by tapping on the ‘Message Admin’ option.
To access this new WhatsApp feature, Group admin may go to menu of ‘Group info’ and tap on the ‘Group Settings’ and can click on ‘Send Messages’.
This new update is available for all Android & iOS devices.
Group admins will get an option to choose ‘All Participants’ or ‘Only Admins’ option.
On selecting the 1st option will maintain the same existing posting rights in the group for non admin members, which would allow all group members including the admins to send messages.
If group admin chooses the 2nd option, only the admin or admins will have the right to post in the group.
